Raymond Pellegrin as Carlos, a friend of Artiguez, also his traitor.Anthony Quinn as Captain Vinolas, a Francoist police captain.Gregory Peck as Manuel Artiguez, an aging Catalan guerilla. The final shot is of the morgue, with the soldiers Artiguez killed and Artiguez himself (and his dead mother), wheeled in on gurneys and arranged in a row, dead. Soldiers and officers congratulate Vinolas on at last killing his enemy, but he asks one of his lieutenants, knowing his mother was already dead and a trap would be waiting for him, why did Artiguez come back? Once inside the hospital, he kills a few officers, but is finally shot. Once in San Martin, Artiguez encounters a Francoist sniper on the roof of the hospital and attacks him, sending him to his death.

Carlos, knowing he is exposed, fights Artiguez and escapes.Īfter much internal debate, Artiguez then decides to go to San Martin anyway, presumably with the mission of killing Vinolas. When Carlos returns for his rucksack, Artiguez asks the priest to come out. On the way back, however, they see the priest, and take him to Artiguezs house. Trying to clear up the mess, Artiguez takes Paco and Carlos to Lourdes to find the priest, but hes not there, and they let Carlos go. Afterwards, Paco recognizes the man (Carlos) in Artiguezs house as an informer, and tells Artiguez about the priests message. When the priest appears at Artiguezs house, hes gone, so the priest tells Paco to pass on the message that his mother is dead, and not to go to San Martin.įor selfish reasons, Paco rips up the letter and doesnt pass on the message. After Vinolas has laid his trap, Artiguezs mother dies (after asking a priest to warn her son not to come), but Vinolas sends a spy to convince Artiguez otherwise, and to come visit her. It is almost like a "My Dad could kick your dad's ass!" scenario on a much grander scale!. I want to believe, although much of scientific fact and what we've been taught about religion often clash. Not only that, but how she had been able to influence we, her children, to the teachings of The Word.ĭo I believe in it all? Partly. I read it to get a sense and understanding of how my Mom came to be the person she was in her life. It was primarily written as an extension of The Book of Revelation from the New Testament, The King James Bible as well as the Holy Bible and a few others.įor as interesting as this book was for me, I will not be keeping it. It is to be the rise of The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and the end of all days. I read itĪn enlightening, enjoyable, yet terrifying story of what is yet to come, as part of mankind's final moments on earth as we know it.
